Forget the Amazon Basin, the plateaus of Borneo and the Himalayan foothills! The West of Ireland is the place to be for the intrepid orchid enthusiast this summer. We may endeavor to travel to the Lough Allen area later in the day, so chill-out and go native!

A Passion for Orchids
Shane Kerr will present a talk aimed particularly at newcomers to orchids. He will explain what defines a plant as an orchid, discuss the romantic history of cultivation and illustrate their breathtaking diversity of orchids including those which can be grown in the home. Members are invited to bring along plants as living proof of his claims.This event will be open to the public. Admission Free

Philip Cribb, an avid botanist as well as an legendary authority on orchids will present a talk organised by the National Botanic Gardens.
