Here are a few of the scented phalaenopsis orchids I own and managed to flower…There are many species and primary hybrids with beautiful markings and amazing scent!
Phalaenopsis Princess Kailuani
Parentage: violacea x amboinensis
There are many colour variants of this cross, the one I have has a deep colour and a sweet scent
Thank you, Íde! She is indeed a precious little princess!😊
Phalaenopsis macassar x violacea red Norton
With strong scent and an amazing little flower!
I was so excited to get this plant, and though it did came with one (still green) flowerspike, it is currently flowering from two new flower spikes…
It is native to certain islands of The Philippines, considered vulnerable to extinction and is protected since 1975…
Not much known about its natural habitat and pollinators. It is found at elevations bellow 500 meters, of it’s genus this species grows in the coolest and deeply shady locations of humid forests.
(Info from: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phalaenopsis_hieroglyphica)
Phalaenopsis Corning’s violet
Parentage: Phal violacea x corningiana
This small flower has an amazing sweet and very strong scent…
Correction to Phal hyerogliphica:
It is flowering from 3 spikes with 4 flowers 🙂
One very short spike was hiding under a leaf…
I love these, especially the dappled ones. They look so delicate and unusual. You are truly a wizard with orchids, Eszter!
