These are from the mountainous regions of Brazil and produce very distinctive flowers having blue-purple or burgundy labellums and often striped sepals. They produce a gorgeous rose-lilac perfume and are long lasting. Numerous hybrids have been produced being vigorous robust plants they are worthy additions to any collection.
Intermediate. Night temperatures approximately 12° to 14° C with a daytime rise of about 10° C.
Average during summer and reduced in winter. Do not mist the leaves this genera is highly susceptible to fungal spotting.
