Coelogyne pulchella deserves to be more widely grown. It is a small cool growing epiphyte from Yunnan China and Myanmar. My plant which was purchased in January from Groβräschener Orchideen (Germany) has already produced a dainty inflorescence as you can see in the picture below. The individual flowers are only about 2cm in diameter and not unlike the size and shape of the popular Coelogyne fimbriata. The contrast between the pure white sepals and the almost black labellum is striking. Unfortunately it has no scent!.
